A rival to Santosh Madhavan

KOCHI: Two Santosh Madhavans of Kerala are giving the police a tough time.
On Thursday, the police thought that they had to deal with only one Santosh Madhavan alias Amrithachaitanya for being involved in frauds in Kerala and Dubai.
But on Friday, it turned out that there is another character from the state bearing the same name and wanted by the CBI and Interpol for possession of weapons in the Mumbai blast case.
Sources said that the Mumbai-fame Santosh Madhavan has a brother called Prikesh Kumar Madhavan. It was from Prikesh that the police then seized most of the weapons. Amrithachaitanya has three brothers.
The portals of CBI and Interpol make clear the differences between the two men. On the CBI website, the name ‘Santosh Madhavan’ is included in the list of ‘Wanted By Interpol, New Delhi’. His date of birth is June 7, 1960. His place of birth is given only as Kerala, India. He speaks Malayalam and Hindi. The offence against him is possession of sophisticated weapons.
Now look at the Dubai-fame Santosh Madhavan. The Interpol portal names him as ‘Madhavan Santosh’ in the wanted list. His date of birth is March 18, 1973. (This is the actual date of birth of ‘Amrithachaitanya’).
The place of birth is Kattappana, Kerala. The languages he speaks are English and Urdu. His associate is Saifudeen Alikannu. Curiously, the picture of ‘Amrithachaitanya’, which was available on the Interpol portal on Thursday, was missing on Friday.
Even Interpol seems to be confused over the two Keralites.
