Godman Santosh Madhavan exposed in Kerala

Police has raided a 16-suite ashram in Kochi on Thursday. Amritha Chaithanya alias Santosh Madhavan the godman, is wanted by Interpol since 2004 for fraud committed in the United Arab Emirates. Interpol has issued a red alert against the godman Santosh Madhavan 35 years old & Saifudeen Alikanu 47 years old after the Dubai government issued an arrest warrant against the duo in a fraud case.
Police raided follows an expose by a Malayalam weekly establishing the identity of the godman, known under the pseudonym Amritha Chaithanya. The report says that Madhavan & his accomplice had invested crores of rupees in real estate in Kerala & built up a network of influential friends & well-wishers.
Madhavan founded Shanthitheeram trust in his own name & his parents. The godman, a matriculate who claims to have learnt astrology & philosophy, roams around in a Mercedes Benz & invests the swindled money in building projects across the state. Police said after raided his ashram in Kochi that they were acting on the basis of several complaints.
A senior official of Police said, “We have got some complaints against the ashram. We are investigating the dealings of the institution. We found only a handful of staff in the ashram-guest house”.
The official said, “We received information that Santosh Madhavan has links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim”.
Santhosh’s former wife told police in her statement that he was in constant touch with Nazar, a close aide of Dawood, via phone. She also said that she divorced her husband when he tried to sell her to underworld kings & prostitute centres in Dubai.
